How to Set Up Your Research Project
Setting up your research project at CAMRI is a straightforward process with our dedicated support team to guide you. Follow these steps:
01. Request a Quote
We prepare quotes based on scan time, study type (UoA or commercial) and specific project requirements.
- Complete the online Pre-quote questionnaire.
- If you need support from CAMRI to develop a specific protocol, please contact the CAMRI team camriresearch@auckland.ac.nz. One of our team will contact you back for further information and provide a quote.
- CAMRI quotes are valid for 6 months
- Please respond by email to accept the quote (or request an update)
- Please review our Data and Information management services
02. Set up your project with CAMRI
To help you set up your imaging project with us, we will need:
- Your planned imaging protocol.
- A copy of the final NZ Ethics Approval.
- The Patient Information Sheet with data/image management descriptive. Please review CAMRI's policy regarding Incidental Findings.
- For clinical trials, a Statement of Work will be agreed and signed off by both parties.
- Please email the above documents to camriresearch@auckland.ac.nz.
03. Finalise your imaging protocol
The CAMRI team will help you:
- Set up (and optimise) your MRI protocol.
- Undertake any training required.
04. Book your scanning sessions
Researchers can:
- Prebook scan times to secure regular sessions or send participant details to be scheduled by the CAMRI booking team.
- Cancel a scan, however this needs to be in line with our Cancellation Policy as per your quote or Statement of Work.
- Conduct pre- or post-scan interviews with participants in our two quiet areas.
- Book your participants by using this template
05. Prepare your participant for their MRI
Please:
- Ensure your participants complete the Safety Screening form before their scan.
- Provide your participants with directions to the MRI scanner / parking instructions.
- Make sure your participant arrives 15 minutes early for their scan to allow time to change into a gown and go through the safety questions with the MRT. Ensure fasting instructions are followed (if required).
- Please direct research participants to CAMRI's Privacy Policy if required
- Click here for more information for participants.
