The Centre for Advanced MRI (CAMRI) at Waipapa Taumata Rau University of Auckland, provides a world-class research Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facility, where researchers and clinicians work together to advance knowledge for the improvement of the health of our communities. Our aim is to maintain a collaborative culture and provide state-of-the-art, high-quality facilities. We strive to provide not only the highest quality clinical care, but also excellence in clinical service, teaching, and research.
Clinical and Research Excellence
Since its establishment in 2004, CAMRI has collaborated closely with Siemens, granting access to cutting-edge equipment and software. We are internationally accredited and serve as an affiliated provider for Southern Cross Healthcare, ensuring the highest standards in both clinical imaging and research.

20 years of advanced MRI
CAMRI was the first MRI venture in New Zealand to focus on advanced clinical and research imaging. With installations performing at higher specifications than standard MRI facilities, we have supported large-scale clinical trials and collaborated with leading New Zealand and international researchers.
